About Allens

Allens is a leading international law firm with a long and proud heritage of shaping the future for our clients, our people and the communities in which we work. Together with our alliance partner Linklaters, our global network spans 40 offices in 28 countries.

We have recently been ranked the top legal graduate employer by GradAustralia and the Australian Association of Graduate Employers. Last year, we were named an elite "band one" firm in 16 practice areas in Australia and Vietnam by Chambers Asia Pacific and awarded Law Firm of the Year (> 500 employees) at the Australasian Law Awards.

This is a time of unprecedented change. At Allens, we’re ready. With a legacy that spans 200 years, we’ve pioneered significant change. It’s a part of who we are.

Our people go further to support our clients, using sharp commercial insight and creativity to enrich long standing relationships and build new ones. We go further for each other and for our community. We’re people you want to work with – generous with our time and ready to help. No matter what the future holds, we’re in it together.

With us, you’ll be one step ahead. Great change is here. Are you ready?

Indigenous Legal Internship Program

Allens is currently accepting applications for our Indigenous Legal Internship Program across the firm's Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth offices. The program, which has been running for 16 years, is an opportunity for second-year law students and above to find out more about working in a commercial legal environment. Previous interns have gone on to become paralegals, clerks and graduates at Allens.

The program will run in person, subject to COVID-19 restrictions, from Monday, 28 June to Friday, 9 July 2021 in all locations.

As part of the Indigenous Legal Internship Program, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • meet our partners and lawyers;
  • join a practice group, where you'll be allocated a buddy, a mentor and a performance coach;
  • learn about the work we do and get practical experience of what our clients want; and
  • hear tips on our clerkship process and what life is like as a graduate at Allens.

We encourage interested Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander law students to submit an application via the 'apply now' button below by 11:55pm (AEST) on Friday, 21 May 2021.
