Graduate Software Developer - Immediate Start

We are looking for a talented & motivated Graduate Software Developer to join our expanding Digital Technology Solutions team based in Cameron Park, Newcastle. You will be a key player in our digital solutions team, setting the software foundations for all future projects. Your development work will allow business assets (mining, environmental monitoring, renewable energy and industrial equipment etc.), sensors, platforms, applications, and more to communicate with one another and drive real world actions.


You will build software solutions and technologies, working closely with our electronics engineers, systems integration experts, Software Development Team and Digital Solutions Manager to design, develop and implement end-to-end software elements as part of our digital technology solutions. You will have responsibility to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain both cloud based and device level software solutions. You will also:

  • Build exciting new solutions through full stack development using JavaScript frameworks and Python
  • Develop and exploit ‘in-house’ product intelligence and expertise regarding customer needs, to identify potential new differentiated customer and market opportunities
  • Translate customer / application use cases into software specifications
  • Design and build scalable architectures for cloud-based applications.
  • Assist Product and Delivery teams to ensure designed solutions are developed and deployed effectively to meet objectives
  • Implement unit and integration tests in an Agile environment


Ideally, you are a Graduate JavaScript/Python developer with a keen interest in IoT and Industrial Control

Any of the following will be advantageous:

  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Computer, Software or Electrical Engineering OR other formal software qualifications with some development experience
  • Enthusiasm to work across current technologies including IoT, Cloud, Web, M2M, IoT, Python, JavaScript, MongoDB or Google Cloud
  • An appreciation of good vs bad GUI design
  • Openness to learn skills across the Industrial Control spectrum including networking, industrial communications and Embedded OS applications
  • Current driver’s license
