Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation - ANSTO

ANSTO provides a flexible, supportive and diverse working environment for employees to effectively manage work and to balance work demands with personal life. Our staff are supported through a range of initiatives including individual flexible agreements, part-time, job-share, phased retirement, purchased leave, and provisions for working from home.

ANSTO has a commitment to achieve greater diversity and gender equity by 2030.  This commitment is reflected in our equal opportunity recruitment processes.

The KU ANSTO Children’s Centre at our Lucas Heights campus offers affordable, high-quality child care services to ANSTO staff as priority, as well as servicing members of the wider community.

An on-site Family Room at the Lucas Heights campus is available to staff who may need to bring their child on-site for a period of time when all other care arrangements has been exhausted.

Equitable maternity leave, parental leave and flexible work arrangements are an essential part of the modern workplace. ANSTO is committed to ensuring that during the Parenting Phase of a career, staff are supported and able to return to work without feeling like their career was stalled or adversely impacted. Pregnant employees can access up to 52 weeks maternity leave irrespective of the period of continuous service.  ANSTO staff with 12 months of continuous services are entitled to 16 weeks (or equivalent to) paid maternity or 20 days paid parental/adoption leave is available.

ANSTO also encourages employees to pursue development opportunities, secondments (both internal and external), and to learn different organisational skills and follow different career paths through our Learn and Leap Program.
