The APA Graduate Program provides a unique opportunity for graduates to gain valuable industry experience, learn about our business and build your career with your chosen discipline.  Over the two-year program you will develop your technical knowledge, skills and leadership capabilities while undertaking meaningful work within a range of teams across the business. You will enjoy working on challenging projects alongside some of the most experienced and talented people in the industry. Learning, sharing knowledge and being supported by these senior members of staff will ensure you become an active and valued contributor to our Climate Change and Net Zero strategy.

As part of the 2023 APA Graduate Program, we are recruiting into our Market Services team, where we are looking for three different types of qualifications:

1. Suited to a graduate of Economics / Finance would be to work with Products and Services

2. Suited to a graduate of IT would be to work with the APA Grid, which is the most complex and mission critical software, which would be very much a business analysis role designing solutions within the system.

3. Suited to a graduate of Business / Law would be to work with contracts and be able to interpret them, working with multiple asset types such as gas, thermal and renewable.

The teams work on Commercial Operations & Contract Management for the organisation. As a Graduate you may work in:

  • Commercial Operations - gain exposure to daily customer management, reporting and invoicing
  • Operational Contracts
  • Grid Operations
  • Operational Excellence or Grid Solutions (IT)
  • possible rotation to one of our sites, such as Mount Isa

These roles are best suited to candidates who enjoy fast paced environments, working within an established team, problem solving, who are meticulous and who enjoy following the data. This will give you exposure to the energy industry together with the opportunity for customer and commercial experience

On completion of the Graduate Program, you will transition into a permanent full-time role to continue your career within APA.

To be eligible to apply for the Graduate Development program, you will be:

  • Degree qualified in Business / Law, IT or Economics / Finance
  • A recent Graduate or in your final year of study and in a position to start your graduate program in March 2023

  • Hold a current Australian driver’s licence (if working in the field)
