Seasonal clerkships

The best way to understand what it feels like to work here is to actually work here! Every year, we hold clerkships in each of our offices to give you an intensive experience of our culture and the kind of work we do.

We work hard to make sure they’re as useful and as stimulating as possible. You’ll spend time in one or two practice areas (depending on which office you’re in), where you’ll work with a supervising partner, lawyer and a buddy who’ll get you involved in real work. You’ll also attend workshops, training, partcipate in team social events.

At the end of your clerkship, we’ll consider offering you a place on our graduate program.

Graduate Programme

Your programme kicks off with an induction and education series where you’ll meet your peers in one location, giving you the chance to build your networks across the nation.

Back in your home office, you’ll benefit from a local induction plus an in-house Practical Legal Training (PLT) course. It's tailored to our firm and so, as you might expect, some modules are chosen for you. We cover all the costs.

We’ll also work closely with you to plan your three rotations, and we’ll review this regularly over the 18 month programme.

Admission and settlement

You'll be admitted as a lawyer once you complete your PLT and, as the end of your programme approaches, we’ll work with you to decide which practice area you join. The choice depends very much on business needs, your preference and your performance.

Even partners with 30 years’ experience still have their "aha!" moments. While the graduate programme will have given you a solid foundation of skills and a knack for disentangling complexities, your experience will continue to grow. Every case, client and colleague will set you off on a new learning curve – so keep an open mind.
