We created the Atlassian Foundation with the vision of helping make the world better. As a company, we contribute 1% of annual profits, 1% of employee time, and 1% of company equity to the foundation.
Pledge 1% encourages and challenges individuals and companies to pledge 1% of equity, profit, product, and/or employee time for their communities. As part of this pledge, Atlassian provides 5 paid volunteer days for staff to volunteer with a charity of their choice, as well as donation matching programs.
"Atlassian was one of the founders of the Pledge 1% movement. Atlassians play a vital role in the ongoing growth of Pledge 1%. We would not be where we are today without them." -Amy Lesnick, Chief Executive and President, Pledge 1%
The Atlassian Foundation also partners with education non-profits to break the poverty cycle. Our main partnership with Room to Read supports girl's education in Cambodia.
We have a long-standing partnership with Room to Read, seeking to transform the lives of children in Cambodia by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. We’ve also recently identified four new pilot partners in Cambodia, one of whom was the 40K Foundation. 40K had developed a highly scalable literacy program, using technology to teach English in remote villages in India.
