The Australian Government Digital Cadetship program is for Australian citizens who are currently studying a degree in a digital or technology related field.
If you are currently studying one of the listed degrees at [https://dta.gov.au/digital-emerging-talent] then should consider applying. You'll need to have completed at least 12 months of your degree by Jan 2022.
Double and honours degrees in these fields are also accepted.

To underpin your future digital career, the Program will offer development opportunities to help you transition into the Australian Government and understand the broader digital work environment.
You will be employed at the APS2 level (or equivalent) in one of the many exciting Australian Government agencies participating in the Program across the country. You will work a minimum two days a week as part of a team in a digital/IT related area.
Government agencies have many different digital and technical roles. These roles support the core functions of each agency and are always changing. Applications are sought from those interested in:
- cyber security
- user research
- interactive media
- software engineering
- big data
- systems analysis and design
- web development
- data analytics
- systems testing
- infrastructure support
- help desk
- applications development
To apply for the Cadetship Program you must:
- be an Australian Citizen
- have completed 1st year (or equivalent) of your eligible degree by Jan 2022
- be able to obtain a security clearance be willing to relocate to Canberra if required.

Shortlisted applicants will proceed to interview in early August. Those further shortlisted will proceed to final assessment later in August with successful applicants notified in October.
This vacancy will fill cadetship program placements with various Australian Government agencies. A cadetship program is a structured, on the job program, designed to introduce cadets to the Australian Public Service. Successful applicants receive training and development, mentoring and on the job support.
