At Bankwest, everything starts and ends with the customer - and that’s a good thing.

Bankwest has been serving our community since 1895, when we were established as the Agricultural Bank of Western Australia. We became known as Bankwest in 1994 and we’re proud to be an integral part of the WA economy.

At Bankwest we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive workplace where you can be you. Everyone has a part to play in creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace culture. We actively encourage our people to engage in the conversation and bring our diversity and inclusion ambitions to life.

LGBTI+ Support

Unity, our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI+) and allies employee network, was formed in 2015 to help create and maintain an inclusive workplace for LGBTI+ colleagues free from bullying, harassment and discrimination. Unity has had great success in raising LGBTI+ awareness, seeing Bankwest recognised as a Gold Tier LGBTI+ Employer of Choice in the 2017 Australian Workplace Equality Index and a finalist in the Pinnacle Award for Workplace Diversity Excellence.

Cultural Diversity

Mosaic is our cultural diversity employee network which aims to embrace and grow our culturally rich workforce through the ongoing development of a supportive and inclusive working environment. Mosaic encourages our people to develop a deeper understanding of different cultures, to build confidence and competence to talk about other cultures, to share their stories and help colleagues to understand and accept their differences so that everyone can feel comfortable to bring their whole selves to work every day.

Gender Equality

At Bankwest we are proud to be an employer of choice for women. In 2016 we were awarded Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) for the third consecutive year. Bankwest is one of just five Western Australian organisations to be recognised for employer commitment and best practice in promoting gender equality in the workplace.

Our MD, Rowan Munchenberg is a member of the WA group, CEOs for Gender Equity. The Groups vision is to boost women’s workforce participation, lift productivity and increase economic growth by sustainably improving gender equity in jobs and pay in enterprises throughout Western Australia.
