Bankwest colleagues frequently describe it as the most upbeat, fun and friendly workplace they have ever experienced. The bank takes promoting diversity and providing flexible working arrangements seriously. Senior managers are approachable and eager to provide mentoring. Colleagues, especially those in the graduate program, socialise frequently, getting together for everything from board-game nights, to sporting events to Friday night drinks.
Our way of working
Bankwest Place houses about 1,500 of our colleagues and has a 5-star Green Star commercial office space rating – signifying world-leading performance. We use an activity-based-working (ABW) design as we recognise that our people work more effectively when they have flexibility. With ABW, you can choose different types of work settings, depending on what you need to do during the day, using mobile technology, unassigned desks and collaborative working spaces. Besides the physical environment, we also embrace aspects of the Agile methodology across many different areas of the bank.
Remuneration and reward
Graduate pay is around industry average and it’s also possible to earn bonuses. Bankwest colleagues get discounts on a range of financial products as well as access to the bank’s impressive, not-for-profit health fund. The bank provides study assistance and paid leave to those undertaking further education related to their role. We have an impressive employee-recognition program. We also provide flexible working arrangements and a variety of leave options, including the ability to buy extra annual leave.
