Graduate ICT Systems Administrator

This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role in the NQA Group and to become part of the dynamic company responsible for the management and operations of Cairns and Mackay Airports.

Required for an immediate start, a fantastic opportunity exists for a graduate to join the experienced and knowledgeable ICT team at Cairns Airport, to assist providing support to the staff, customers and contractors of the NQA Group.

This role is suited to a recent (or soon to be) graduate, keen to advance and develop their career in a corporate ICT environment. 

The successful applicant must be motivated and willing to assist with the delivery of exceptional customer service to our staff, customers, and contractors. The purpose of the role is to assist the senior ICT Systems Administrators with  system and network administration for Cairns and Mackay airports corporate and operational ICT systems (including evaluations, installations, documentation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration, support, and issue resolution); and also assist to develop, implement, maintain, and support security and cyber security controls for Cairns and Mackay airport systems.

To be a success in this role you must have well developed communication and interpersonal skills together with advanced computer skills.

We are looking for a graduate (or soon to be) with: 

  • Diploma or degree qualifications in Information Communication Technology or a related discipline

Previous experience with: 

  • Microsoft desktop products and operating systems
  • End user documentation and training
  • Desktop and laptop devices
  • High level interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational, time, task and priority management.
  • Advocate for teamwork, collaboration and customer service.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are vital, as is the proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues. You must be able to work cohesively in a team, and work autonomously with limited supervision.

This position is on a full time permanent basis.
