AI Job Summary

CareerDC Internships charge a fee for the coordination of each internship program. You will get a tailored resume, interview training, unlimited interviews, access to our network of host companies, an internship placement relevant to your studies, an accredited WIL course and support during your internship.

Get work experience relevant to your major. Develop a whole new, practical perspective on your discipline as you apply your university learning in a work experience placement.

The Construction Internship Program is for you if you are looking to get work experience in your study area and get academic credit for the internship.

The internship program is also a great fit for you if you are an international student studying Construction or Construction Management in Australia and you want local work experience with an Australian business.

What if you have already graduated? Or what if your university does not require you to do an internship as part of your studies?

You can enrol in the internship program and combine it with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program

To give you an example, the internship host companies include

  • a company specialising in ground engineering services,
  • an architectural design firm, and
  • a design company specialising in carpentry and drywall services

As another example, your internship could include

  • learning about the management of small teams and ensuring works are completed on time and to standard,
  • assisting with workflow management, and
  • purchasing and delivering materials to the project site

Or, your internship placement could include getting experience in

  • estimating and compiling prequalification information for tender,
  • assisting site engineers with site contract administration,
  • and learning about the day-to-day activities of projects on site

Or, as one more example, the internship could give you experience in

  • working closely with a construction administrator and builder,
  • learning about conducting project analysis and project management, and
  • carrying out onsite observation with the project manager to ensure the project runs smoothly

The Construction Internship Program is facilitated by CareerDC, work experience placement coordinators. Since 2011 we have been helping students and recent graduates get practical work experience through the internship program.
