Engineering Civil/Structural Internship Program

CareerDC Internships charge a fee for the coordination of each internship program. You will get a tailored resume, interview training, unlimited interviews, access to our network of host companies, an internship placement relevant to your studies, an accredited WIL course and support during your internship.

Take charge of your own career readiness. Gather Australian work experience and get yourself ready to start working in your field as a new Civil or Structural Engineer.

The Civil/Structural Engineering Internship Program is designed for international engineering students in Australia to gain practical experience with local businesses.

It's a good option if you want local work experience and academic credit for the internship.

If you have already graduated or if an internship is not a study requirement for you, you can still benefit from the internship and combine it with an accredited Work Integrated Learning program.

The Internship Program is facilitated by CareerDC, work experience placement coordinators.

The Civil/Structural Engineering Internship Program will be tailored to match your internship preferences, needs and your study subject.

Just to give some examples, the Civil/Structural Engineering internship host companies include an established company specialising in geotechnical engineering, a company that offers structural and civil engineering consulting and project management services, and a firm that offers structural engineering services to residential design projects.

As another example, your internship could include assisting with the collection of data on various physical factors that impact construction projects, getting experience in sketching and drawing proposed construction projects, and coordinating with architects and designers.

Or, you could experience inspecting different construction sites, apply your skills in AutoCAD drafting, and learn about writing structural inspection reports.

As one more example, your internship could get you to learn about concrete footings and slabs for residential buildings, design and analyse suspended concrete slabs, and gain experience in designing driveways, verges or turning circles, for example.
