Asset Management and Systems Officer

  • Salary starting from $70,054 (dependant on experience) + super

To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a motivated person to manage the shires assets data to inform future planning and renewal programs.

This role will provide you the opportunity to:

  • Perform a range of duties to assist the Strategic Asset Management team in the implementation and ongoing functioning of Council’s asset management system, Geographic Information System (GIS) and associated strategies and plans
  • Support the development and maintenance of Council’s GIS and mobility systems to facilitate enhanced asset management practices
  • Provide verbal and written reports to the Coordinator Strategic Asset Management, as requested
  • Assist with entry of updated data into corporate Asset and GIS systems with data updates from external agencies and the provision of data to third parties (Government agencies, Utilities and Consultants.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position (e.g. Spatial Sciences, Surveying, Engineering) and some relevant experience in Asset Management and GIS, or a lesser formal qualification and substantial relevant experience
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in using Asset Management Systems
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in using desktop Geographic Information Systems for asset data capture, and spatial/asset data management, analysis, mapping and reporting.
  • excellent numeracy and data management and reasoning skill
  • experience and understanding of the fundamentals of asset management system
  • excellent time management, prioritization and organisational/administrative skills
  • experience in the application of asset and GIS databases
  • strong communication skills.
