The role & you

Our Transport Assets team are now seeking a full-time Asset Systems Officer. MidCoast Council's transport asset management system is foundational in long-term planning for Council’s transport infrastructure; and this position will be responsible for maintaining this system through effective data-entry, data-analysis and reporting. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of the role include:

  • Entering new transport assets into the system and working closely with the Geographic Information System team to ensure assets are linked to the mapping system
  • Filtering and sorting of data within Technology One and/or Excel for future programs and reporting requirements
  • Work closely with our Asset Officers to ensure the data stored is of a high standard
  • Creating work projects to ensure that works performed and expenditure are linked to the asset

This is a technical role requiring an individual who is committed to maintaining data integrity through effective system management. You will need to be conscientious and have a high attention to detail.

What you will bring

  • TAFE or Equivalent Certificate in Information Technology or similar field
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel with demonstrated knowledge of functions for filtering, sorting and analysing data
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of asset database applications
  • Problem solving skills and an ability to improve systems, procedures and processes

The package: Commencing salary package circa $59,100 - $71,005 p.a. plus superannuation. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full-time 35 hours per week
