About the opportunity

Our team is growing and we are looking for an energetic, motivated and experienced Development Engineer to join our Development Services Unit! We are interested in hearing from experienced development engineers, or recent graduates with an interest in the development industry. If you are a recent graduate, or have proven knowledge and experience in the Development realm, we would love to hear from you. This is a unique chance to come in at ground level and work your way up to become a key player as our valued Development Engineer. Alternatively, if you are looking for your next career move to enhance your portfolio, this may be the job for you as the Cessnock LGA attracts a wide-range of development proposals, relating to large-scale subdivisions; wine-based tourism facilities; temporary events; and significant commercial and industrial developments.  

In this role you will contribute to the provision of professional development engineering input relating to development and subdivision works matters in order to ensure that Council achieves its objectives and is compliant with relevant legislative requirements. You will assess development applications and associated applications such as subdivision works certificates, subdivision certificates and section 138 applications, as well as assist in compliance with conditions of consent during civil construction works.

Remuneration:

An attractive remuneration package is on offer which will be negotiated with the successful candidate and includes 11.5% superannuation and a leaseback vehicle. Financial assistance for relocation to the area is also available.
