The role will see you using your knowledge and experience in Ecology, environmental sustainability and community consultation to provide assistance to our Development and Rezoning Applications team.

In addition you will be providing advise on complex ecological and environmentally sustainable issues including but not limited to contentious land use planning issues and the preservation and management of established flora and fauna habitats and/or communities.

You will also be delving into strategic programs or projects associated with terrestrial and aquatic ecology to enhance your day and your skills. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Undertake and manage strategic programs or projects associated with terrestrial and aquatic ecology, biodiversity and sustainability issues;
  • Provide high level strategic ecological services in the field of environment and natural resources;
  • Resolve contentious land use planning issues as they relate to the preservation and management of established flora and fauna habitats and/or communities.

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $79.3k to $95.2k per annum dependent on skills and experience + 10.5% superannuation. 

A vehicle is provided for official duties and private use leaseback is available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role, with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.

Successful candidates may be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus or demonstrate their immunity.
