Governance Specialist

• 6 weeks’ annual leave (30 days) • Opportunity to be part of a small, collaborative team • Provide advice to enhance legislative compliance, good governance standards and practices for member Local Governments   Governance SpecialistTotal Package $132,393.04 per annum (inclusive of super guarantee)   We have a rare and exciting opportunity on offer for a Governance Specialist to join the friendly Governance and Procurement team here at WALGA, who take great pride in delivering expert advice and guidance to Western Australia’s Local Government sector. Working closely together the team’s purpose is to encourage the adoption of better practice governance frameworks and facilitate our member Local Governments’ understanding of statutory compliance obligations. We do this in being readily available by phone and email and maintaining a modern suite of advice materials and procedural templates, provided both free of charge and under a subscription service. There will be opportunities in this role to travel throughout WA to deliver customised workshops, promote WALGA’s Governance function, attend WALGA Zone meetings and member networking. This role collaborates in developing webinars and providing subject matter expertise to WALGA’s suite of Local Government Elected Member and Officer training modules (WALGA is a Registered Training Organisation).
