Human Resources Projects Officer

Council’s Organisational Development Branch is seeking a pro-active, innovative person to fill the position of Human Resources Project Officer. The successful applicant will perform key projects tasks to support the development, implementation and outcomes for Organisation Development projects. This is a fantastic role for a motivated individual to grow their project management skills and assist with continuous improvement within the organisation, in areas such as organisation culture, diversity awareness and embedding Council's Values. Reporting to the Team Leader Organisation Development, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Contribute to Council’s continuous improvement programs including promoting business excellence principles, tools and techniques to ensure a holistic review of and improved response to service delivery.
  • Facilitate the integration of business excellence principles into organisation policies, processes and systems to achieve sustainable performance.
  • Support the delivery of the service review and process improvement program to ensue delivery of best value to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, review and reporting on progress towards and achievement of business excellence objectives, and identify current or emerging challenges and propose solutions to respond to them.
  • Inform and advise the Team Leader Organisational Development on strategies and activities that contribute to the achievement of the key objectives of Council’s continuous improvement program.
  • Inform and educate employees about the Australian Business Excellence Framework and support the active participation of service areas in realising business excellence objectives. Support the system administration of Promapp.
  • Undertake specific projects or tasks associated with the continuous improvement program.
  • Use resources efficiently and effectively to deliver the key objectives of the continuous improvement program.

Essential Criteria 

  • Tertiary qualification in organisation development, change management, quality management or related discipline, coupled with demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar role; or substantial contemporary experience in a similar role, coupled with ongoing professional development to support contemporary knowledge.
  • Demonstrated project co-ordination experience including the ability to present information clearly and concisely to a wide audience.
  • Proven ability to engage, collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve fit-for-purpose outcomes that drive the achievement of strategic, organisational and operational objectives.
  • Experience in or knowledge of process mapping, review and improvement.
  • Solid contemporary experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
  • Current Class C drivers Licence.
  • Ability to work and travel across the organisation’s multiple work places.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience working in the Local Government Sector.
  • Understanding of Quality Management principles and/or Australian Business Excellence Framework
