ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are currently seeking a passionate and suitably qualified and experienced individual to join Council's Planning and Environmental Health Division. This position is responsible for providing creative and innovative landscape architecture/urban design solutions, including project management, to a diverse range of Council projects.

A key responsibility of the position will be to function as the recognised organisational specialist in the area of landscape architecture/urban design by providing professional and technical design advisory services to a range of internal clients.

Hours of work for this part time position are 21 hours per week.

To be successful you will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture and/or Urban Design or relevant field combined with extensive demonstrated practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the coordination and delivery of quality urban design landscape and open space projects in the public domain.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current landscape construction methodology; compliance to industry standards; awareness of professional contract documentation; and a sound appreciation of specification of suppliers and materials within the industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of creative and innovative design solutions including awareness and integration of environmentally responsible design initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of CAD drafting, graphics software and project management applications, with the ability to produce both hand drawn and computer generated graphics.

The rewards

  • A part time annual salary range of $50,300 to $57,800 (plus 10.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
