Byron Shire Council is currently seeking Town Planning professionals with a minimum of two years experience to work in a busy environment to review and assess development applications in the Sustainable Development Team.

Some specific tasks include:

  • reviewing and assessing development applications in a timely fashion
  • project managing a busy case load
  • liaising with the community, applicants, consultants, Government agencies and Council staff

You will bring:

  • strong written and verbal communication skills, and 
  • a strong focus on outcomes

We have various exciting opportunities for experienced Development Assessment Planners

  • Permanent Full Time position (35 hpw - part time applicants may be considered)
  • Temporary Part Time position for up to 12 months (28 hpw)
  • Consultant arrangements (short term contracts for Planning Consultants, hours and rates to be negotiated)

  • Direct appointed staff salary and conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary in the range of $75,685 to $87,692 full time per annum pro rata (further negotiation on salary may be available dependent upon skills and experience)

Location:

This position is based at Mullumbimby however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
