The Opportunity This is a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated Safety Officer. As a member of the Human Resources team, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating and fostering a proactive safety culture at Council in line with legislative requirements and best practice concepts. Key requirements of the role:

• Diploma qualifications or higher in Work Health and Safety or relevant field coupled with solid contemporary experience in a WHS role
• Sound working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation and regulations
• Experience in conducting WHS investigations and audits
• Experience in delivering WHS induction, education and awareness training
• Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes
• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products
• NSW General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
• Current drivers licence
