Sustainability Project Officer

Job No. CB17801

$77,642 - $89,288 per annum + super

Fixed Term 1 year Full time - 35 hours per week, Nine day fortnight

 

We are looking for an energetic, flexible and highly motivated team player to manage and support a variety of environmental projects and programs within the Sustainability & Waste team. This role will primarily focus on delivering greenhouse gas emission reduction programs, climate resilience projects and environmental policy and strategy work relating to Councils Environmental Strategy, Emissions Reduction Action Plan, Urban Tree Canopy Strategy, Litter Strategy and Biodiversity Strategy. 

Some of the main priorities of the role include:

  • Developing and implementing a program of environmental workshops
  • Environmental and climate resilience reporting
  • Delivering climate change and greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects which help meet our net zero emissions target

Motivated, experienced and passionate about what you do, you will be involved in integrating, reporting and tracking environmental sustainability throughout Council’s operations. This position will involve community meetings outside of normal business hours, which requires some night and weekend work.

To be successful in this role you will need to have tertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to environmental or sustainability fields.  You will have excellent communication skills including the confidence to deal with the community and other departments within the organisation.  You will also have the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment with a high degree of computer literacy essential for this position.
