Traffic Services Engineer
About the role:
This role improves the level of traffic management, traffic planning and road safety in the Council area whilst providing technical and administrative support to the Principal Coordinator.
Duties include:
• Respond to customer requests.
• Prepare Local Traffic Committee reports.
• Assess the traffic & parking aspects of development applications, construction certificates,
subdivision certificates and/or planning proposals, where required.
• Develop proposals for traffic signs, line marking, bus shelters, bus stops, pathways, street lighting
and traffic facility installation for infrastructure.
• Process temporary road occupancy, road closure, work zone, portable traffic signals, street lighting
and other applications
• Provide specialised design and construction advice for traffic and road infrastructure projects.
• Undertake traffic modelling investigations.
• Organise, undertake and analyse traffic counts.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
1. Degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated work experience in traffic and/or transport
engineering.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Local Government traffic engineering or a related field.
3. An understanding and interest in contemporary traffic engineering practices and management
techniques.
4. Knowledge of relevant procedures, Australian Standards, RMS technical directions, AUSTROAD
guidelines and relevant legislation relating to traffic engineering.

Position details:
Permanent – full time. S1069, Salary: from $84302 + Superannuation + Performance Bonus (up to 2% annual salary) + organisational bonus (up to $2K) + Aquatic and Fitness membership discounts
