Your Next Opportunity

This role is an integral part of our Infrastructure team, overseeing professional engineering project management for the delivery of water and wastewater projects across the Shire. Reporting to the Manager of Water Services, you will coordinate and participate in the preparation of clear and comprehensive project plans while supervising and administering contracts. 

Other day-to-day duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the delivery of the council’s capital works program
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to water, wastewater, waste and other customers within safety, environmental, quality, time, cost and service level objectives
  • Develop and implement an effective Liquid Trade Waste Policy
  • Identify new and improved methods of service delivery, asset management and people development
  • Manage water operations teams and develop the skills and potential of each employee through an appropriate mix of formal training, task allocation and experience/coaching

What You’ll Bring to the Team

To be considered for this position, you must hold, at minimum, tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering. You will have 1-2 years of experience in a similar role*, which you will draw on to ensure the success of Council projects. 

Other requirements include:

  • Significant demonstrated project management experience in the delivery of strategic and capital works projects 
  • Ability to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance including the development and implementation of policies and procedures to prevent incidents and address risks
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Current valid NSW Class C Driver’s Licence (ongoing employment is conditional on maintaining this Licence)

*Although it is our preference that candidates with some experience in the field apply for this position, we will also consider Graduate Engineers who have undertaken pre-graduate work in a similar area.
