Global Markets is a key division of Institutional Banking & Markets and is responsible for the Trading & Sales activities in financial markets encompassing all Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Fixed Income and Interest Rate products. Our vision is to be the aspiration within Global Markets.

The Global Markets Summer Analyst Program is open to students who are already passionate about working in the Global Financial Markets and are open to roles in Trading, Quantitative Analysis, Market Sales and Structuring across core markets products for the full range of institutional and corporate clients serviced by CommBank.

The teams recruiting for Summer Analysts this year include Trading, Quantitative Solutions, Sales and Structuring.

If you’re studying Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Studies and Engineering and are curious about Global Markets, we’d love to hear from you! Over the summer, you’ll be given the opportunity to utilise your knowledge and skills gained from your degree to price foreign exchange products, support in building out derivative pricing tools, or work on bespoke client structures and solutions across all products!

Our 10-week program starting on 7 December 2020, gives you a taste of what it’s like to work with Australia’s best bank. You’ll have the opportunity to do real work that will allow you to put your passion and transferrable skills you’ve gained from studies, work or extracurricular activities into practice.

Your day-to-day tasks will vary depending on which desk you’re placed in. For further information about what your day in the program looks like, please visit our website.

From day one, you’ll receive training, networking opportunities with industry professionals and you’ll be paired with a buddy to ensure you’re set up for success throughout the program.

Please note that this program may result in a direct hire role into Global Markets at the completion of your degree and will not form part of the group wide Graduate Program. Should you be successful, you may also be eligible for a part time opportunity for the duration of your final year of studies to keep you connected with the Global Markets team.
