Fountain Gate Primary School draws students from its residential area in Narre Warren as well as the Fountain Gate South and Hallam Gardens estates.
The enrolment at the school is currently 490 students. Our school¿s current analysis of its student population indicates that there are 54% of students from Non English Speaking Backgrounds. We have pupils from over 50 different cultures and are strongly committed to the multicultural diversity of the community we serve.
The school's mission is to provide students with a nurturing, stimulating environment that promotes meaningful, developmental learning for life. We envision a school community working together to enable individuals to be self-motivated learners who achieve their personal best so that they become responsible members of society. Our instructional model is based on the Gradual Release of Responsibility and this continues to be refined as our Professional Learning Community embeds best practices across all curriculum areas.

Vibrant specialist programs are provided from Foundation - Year 6 in Visual Arts, Physical Education, F-2 in Music and Drama, Years 3-6 in Science and Maths in Action. F-6 students and staff have access to iPad and Apple TV technology.
At Fountain Gate Primary School there is a consistent and positive approach to student behaviour which fosters a school climate where personal responsibility and self-discipline are developed. The link between experience, thinking, feeling and behaving is reflected in the school¿s formal and informal procedures. ¿Restorative Justice¿ is the main vehicle used to maintain positive relationships.
At present the buildings consist of a main administration/staff/library core, fourteen permanent classrooms, two galleries (four classrooms surrounding a central learning area) and six portables. The school has a full size gymnasium. The school is proud to run a very active Community Hub that promotes partnerships both within and the broader community. The grounds are large, attractive and well maintained.
Program Benefits
This position attracts an incentive payment of $5,650 (pre-tax) for the successful candidate who meets the eligibility criteria set out under conditions of employment.
Conditions of Employment
All staff employed by the Department and schools have access to a broad range of employment conditions and working arrangements.
The appointment of successful applicants will be made subject to satisfactory pre-employment conditions check.
A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment and induction and support programs provided.
Eligibility for incentive payments:
- The successful candidate is committing to a minimum of 1 year employment at this school.
- The successful candidate will not be a Graduate Teacher Incentive recipient from a previous vacancy.
- The successful candidate must not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position is to commence.
