Project Officer – (Science Graduate – Forest Fire and Regions) - CBD

Location – CBD/TBA/TBA

The first placement will be in the Office of the Conservation Regulator (OCR) which delivers timber harvesting, biodiversity, fire prevention and land-use regulation. OCR’s mission is to be an effective, trusted, best-practice regulator – increasing transparency, improving relationships and regulatory capability to deliver on regulatory outcomes.

The role will be part of a team which is focussed on building the capacity of OCR’s operational staff (authorised officers) to focus their work on the highest risks to the environment and measuring the impact of non-compliance with the law and the impact that our work to promote and require compliance with the law has on environmental outcomes.

This position plays a key role in ensuring the OCR is a risk-based regulator and that we can monitor and assess the outcomes achieved by our regulatory work.
