Department of Finance

Clare – “Working in a central agency is exciting and has already provided me with a variety of experiences to learn about different areas of the Government. I know that this exposure will allow me to have a diverse range of career opportunities both at Finance and within the broader Australian Public Service. The innovative way Finance is looking to transform the Public Service was one of the things that attracted me to the Graduate Development Program. The dynamic working environment at Finance has already exposed me to a range of people across Finance including Senior Executive Staff who have all been equally welcoming and interested in my professional development. I’m very happy with my decision to start my career at the Department of Finance.”

Siva – “The graduate program at the Department of Finance immerses graduates head on into a challenging work environment, providing opportunities to experience a variety of work and engage in projects that have a whole of government perspective. With the continued support of formal training sessions and graduate mentors, the program ensures that all graduates make the most of this opportunity to network with senior executives and experience the best the public service has to offer.”

Carmen – “As an Aboriginal graduate, I found Finance to be an excellent learning opportunity to experience a wide variety of exciting and challenging work from an whole of government perspective. I have worked on projects such as the Consolidated Financial Statements to Indigenous Affairs work, including developing an Indigenous Employment and Retention Strategy as my major grad project. We also have amazing support here with an active Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff Network (ATSISN).”
