2023 Graduate Development Program (TasGraD)

Start your career in the Tasmanian State Service

TasGraD welcomes Graduates from the full range of academic disciplines, so it doesn’t matter what you studied at University, we have a variety of roles that will challenge, inspire and encourage you to explore the many opportunities available across the Tasmanian State Service (TSS). 

Currently we have more than 30 graduate roles, all fixed term for two or three years. 

We are looking for graduates who:

  • Are adaptable and willing to learn and innovate 
  • Can bring different life experiences and perspectives to their roles, enriching our Agencies and helping us to deliver better outcomes for the community

What we offer 

You will participate in a structured learning and development program with your fellow TasGraDs and work in an Agency where you may have the opportunity to rotate through different teams or support a specific business area.

Who can apply

To be eligible for the 2023 TasGraD program you must: 

  • Have graduated with a minimum of a three-year undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the last three years, or have graduated by the end of January 2023 (qualifying degrees as rated by the Australian Qualifications Framework are at level 7 or above). 
  • Have the right to work full-time in Australia until at least the end of June 2024 (this may include Australian Citizenship or permanent residency, New Zealand citizenship with a current New Zealand passport, or holding a visa that allows you to work full-time in Australia).
  • Be available to start work by February 2023. 

Depending on the agency you are appointed to, you may also be required to satisfy/acquire further eligibility requirements. Refer to the Statement of Duties in the job ad for a comprehensive list.

Employment details

The graduate roles are all fixed term for two or three years, working up to 76 hours per fortnight.
