Treasury provides the highest level of support and professional development to all graduates. We have an extensive development program including on-the- job learning, interactive policy analysis and technical skill development from subject matter experts.
Placements support cumulative development and on the job experience; formal training also builds on the knowledge gained in the previous placement. The program structure means you contribute to the work of the Department from the outset.
Treasury staff and managers are committed to your learning and development, giving guidance, advice and feedback. You will quickly gain a good understanding of how your work fits in with the broader public policy context.
As a Treasury graduate, you could be part of:
- preparing advice for the Treasurer;
- policy development from conception to legislation and program delivery;
- the budget process from beginning to end; and
- drafting correspondence for Ministers.
The Graduate Program will give you the skills you need for a successful career.
To learn more about the graduate experience visit Meet the Grads (/meet-the- grads/).
Treasury will attend a number of graduate career events in 2017. Check back here, or follow us on social media, for details of where you can meet with us throughout the year.
Applications for the program will open in March 2017 and close in early May 2017. The 2018 Graduate Program will start in February 2018.
