Calling early career Allied Health Professionals with an adventurous spirit! Would you like to work across teams, expand your network, diversify your professional skills with clients of all ages, and potentially travel across WA and TAS?

EverAbility’s new Early Career Program offers placements across its dynamic family of services, including low vision specialist VisAbility and therapy provider Kites Children’s Therapy.  This exciting two-year program offers continuing employment at VisAbility or Kites Children’s Therapy upon completion.

EverAbility has more than 100 years’ experience supporting people with disability across Western Australia and Tasmania.  Our family of services include:

VisAbility - our specialised service supporting people with blindness or vision impairment to live the life they want with confidence.

Guide Dogs WA and Guide Dogs Tasmania – our iconic service raising and training life changing assistance dogs to help people living with vision impairment and disability to enjoy independent lives they want to lead.

Kites Children’s Therapy – our early intervention support, advice and solutions service transforming the lives of children and their families living with disability or developmental challenges.

Perron Place - our innovative and collaborative community centre that combines events, conferences and community activities for Western Australians of all ages and abilities.

What happens after graduation is critical in setting you up for success in your new career. This program will help you get off to the best possible start, and know that all your hard work at university was worth it! This program gives the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, social workers, psychologists, exercise physiologists, orientation & mobility specialists, and orthoptists. Through this program you will have the opportunity to:

  • Enjoy a supported learning environment with opportunities for peer coaching and regular check-ins with your mentors.
  • Join a welcoming multi-disciplinary team environment with over 70 fellow allied health professionals who are passionate about what they do.
  • Build a support network of other graduates going through the same process as you.
  • Work with clients of all ages and backgrounds across your caseload, according to your area of interest.
  • Expand your understanding of the aged care and disability sectors, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme and My Aged Care.
  • Work in programs and regions across Western Australia and Tasmania.

  • You are in the first two years of your allied health career, on the path to graduating in 2022 or returning to work.
  • You feel excited by the possibility of moving across teams and interstate (WA and TAS) for “rotations”. 
  • You are a self-starter with a commitment to purpose.
  • You possess courage to pursue your areas of passion and expertise and are not afraid to actively contribute to a workplace of openness, adaptability and care. 
  • You understand the value of giving and the power of a story to change perspectives.

You will also have:

  • Relevant Bachelor or Masters degree in an allied health discipline listed, and registered to practice, or on the path to graduating early 2022.
  • Previous experience or an interest in the disability sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of person and family-centred interventions.
  • The ability to work autonomously to manage a client caseload and produce positive outcomes.
  • A National Police Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check.
  • Full rights and readiness to work in Australia.
