Graduate Chemical Engineer – Risk Consulting

Join a global professional services leader. We are committed to solving the world’s biggest challenges in the areas of water, energy and urbanisation.

Our leading Risk Consulting practice is recognised by clients for the quality and capability of our consultants nationally and internationally. Within this group, servicing Australia and global markets, our Risk Management team has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Advisor to support our capabilities.

You will gain exposure to a wide variety of complex environments and learning opportunities and develop skills and experiences to support the delivery of innovative solutions to our clients. We work with our clients to assess and manage risks, significantly reducing the likelihood of target events occurring, and enhancing business operations and safety from the boardroom to on-the-ground projects. Early in your career, you’ll always be partnered with a Senior consultant so there’ll always be support on projects for you as you grow your technical capability.

Joining our Graduate Program in 2022, we’re currently seeking final year students studying Chemical Engineering, if possible with an additional, more business focussed degree.  The team is particularly looking for a student who enjoy building networks, have a willingness to learn and experience new opportunities in a multidisciplinary environment. You will display a willingness to work on opportunities interstate or even abroad.

Working with a blend of remote and office-based work, you could be based out of our Melbourne or Perth offices, where you’ll find yourself connected in with a strong cohort of graduates and other early career professionals – you’re sure to find your tribe once you start.

What will you do in the role?

  • Exposure to diverse range of industries, including site work & possible short term secondments
  • Scribing in Risk workshops that are facilitated by our team members
  • Understand different risk techniques and Project Management fundamentals
  • Proposal development and understanding clients needs
  • Client communication
  • Contribution to technical solutions

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A Chemical Engineering degree with reasonably strong academic performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A natural curiosity and a passion for continuous, self-driven learning
  • Strong communication skills

What we offer:
Outside of the technical development you’ll gain working within the Risk team, you’ll also join GHD’s Graduate Development Program.  Our learning will provide you with an integrated two-year, holistic experience as we start to develop our future leaders and technical experts. Every GHD Graduate across the globe is included in the program, so no matter where your career may take you, you’ll all start with the same learning experience.

During the two-year program, you will learn about our business and our values, your team and most importantly, yourself. You will develop your decision-making, communication, technical and important leadership skills. We offer personal mentoring and a variety of development activities, including opportunities to work in our regional offices.
