Graduate Engineer - Dams, Waste and Tailings (Townsville)

Our Dams team based in Townsville is looking for a Graduate Engineer that is keen to forge their career in this multidisciplinary and dynamic team.  Within this group of Engineers, Designers and Drafters, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of local, national and international projects whilst being connected with over 100 dams engineers across Australia and a global business with over 10,000 professionals.

Working with a blend of remote and office-based work, you’ll be based out of our Townsville office whose office environment includes a strong cohort of graduates and other early career professionals – you’re sure to find your tribe once you start.     

What will you do in the role?

  • Dams engineering is a broad discipline which encompasses many aspects of civil engineering including structural, geotechnical and hydraulics as a graduate you will get exposure to all of these elements
  • You will undertake roles on a variety of projects including dam and dam upgrade design, dam safety inspections, dam design review, dam construction, dam risk assessments and pumped hydropower projects
  • You will work collaboratively with peers in the dams industry as well as many other disciplines within GHD
  • You will have opportunities to work collaboratively with our valued clients in the water dams industry
  • Connect in with a wider team of professionals to share insights, knowledge and improve your overall technical capabilities.

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Has recently graduated, or will graduate at the end of the year with a degree in Civil or Structural or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Are passionate about the consulting industry
  • Have strong communication teamwork and communication skills
  • Have an interested in developing broad engineering skills across all Dams related disciplines as well as a strong interest in:
    • Geotechnical Engineering; or
    • Hydraulic Engineering; or
    • Structural Engineering; or
    • Civil Engineering

Any prior experience in an engineering environment will be highly regarded.
