GREENWOODS & HERBERT SMITH FREEHILLS: VACATION CLERKSHIP 2021
Applications for Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills 2021 Vacation Clerkship Program opens on Tuesday, 8 June 2021.
Each year, we invite penultimate year university students with a suitable academic focus to apply for a 10 week Summer clerkship program in the firm's Sydney office. Following successful completion, students may be offered a graduate position to begin in the year immediately after graduation.
We are particularly interested in students studying Law and/or Commerce (accounting preferred) or who show an interest in practising as a tax adviser. Our tax advisers are a mix of lawyers and accountants, and many are both!
As a Greenwoods vacation clerk you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of tax advisory and tax compliance matters across our industry groups: Real Estate, Financial Services, Energy & Resources, Corporate & M&A, Projects & Infrastructure, Private Wealth and Transfer Pricing. Tax Advisory is the consideration and provision of tax advice in relation to all matters including corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure, property development, financing and international transactions. Tax compliance is the reporting obligations that arise from complying with the tax law. This includes the end-to-end preparation and review of tax reports, including income tax returns, business activity statements and other lodgement obligations.
