Are you a Graduate Midwife looking for an exciting beginning to your midwifery career? Do you have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a passion for delivering high quality care?

Nepean Private Hospital is looking for motivated, proactive and enthusiastic Registered Midwives to be part of our Graduate Midwifery Program. Bachelor of Midwifery and Post Graduate Diploma of Midwifery applicants with a passion for midwifery and neonatal care are encouraged to apply.

Our Women's Health Unit encompasses antenatal, postnatal, intrapartum care, gynaecology and a level 2 special care nursery. Our dynamic team is proud to provide women and their families the highest standard of care and customer service. Our graduate program aims to provide support and assist with development of skills and experience that will allow new midwives to grow and develop. You will be surrounded by a supportive team environment including a midwifery educator and dedicated clinical preceptors.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Deliver evidence based midwifery and neonatal care
  • Work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide support and education to parents
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service
  • Ensure patient and staff safety

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Current or pending registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
  • Clinical skills and motivation to ensure excellence in patient care and customer service
  • A commitment to safe practice and quality patient care
  • Understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Displays evidence of clinical reasoning and critical thinking
  • The ability to act in a professional manner at all times

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current HSP & NSWNA/ANF Nurses 2015-2019 Enterprise Agreement.

Our commitment to quality and safety for our patients, staff and visitors is our highest priority. Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check (conducted within the last 2 months), a current Working with Children check and provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare Worker including COVID Vaccination status, all prior to appointment.
