About the role
IMB Bank has a new opportunity for a graduate/entry level candidate to join the Control Assurance team, reporting to the Specialist Risk and Control Assurance Lead.
This role is integral in supporting Risk team in the maintenance and operation of IMB’s risk management frameworks including risk controls, risk monitoring and reporting and in strengthening risk practices and culture across IMB. Some of the core responsibilities and tasks of the role include:
- Control testing and assurance activities to validate sufficiency of internal controls in managing risk and obligations
- Identification of potential control redundancies and enhancements to achieve balance between risk reduction and costs
- Coordination with SMEs to ensure effective design of control tests
- Assistance with the compilation and reporting of control testing activities undertaken enterprise wide
- Action item management including follow up and confirmation of resolution
- Assistance with the upkeep and maintenance of the central control library
- Working with the Risk team and other colleagues to improve risk practices for better business outcomes.
About you
This is the perfect role to apply your degree in a Risk/Retail Bank environment with practical coaching, guidance and on the job experience provided to help accelerate your knowledge and skills in business processes, testing practices and reporting. You’ll gain further exposure to broader banking operations and to IMB projects that will further enhance your career progression and development.
Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate:
- A tertiary qualification in a related field such as Business, Commerce, Finance etc
- A natural attention to detail with an analytical mind and strong digital & computer literacy
- A proactive approach to learning and development
- Effective organization and planning skills to manage multiple tasks within timeframes
- Confidence to engage and collaborate with all audiences, both written and verbally
- The ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks with a reasonable level of autonomy
- Intuitiveness and initiative to help identify, solve problems and escalate issues as needed
- Experience with process mapping and flowcharting would be advantageous/preferred
- Any business experience in internal audit will be advantageous.
