The opportunity

IPART is a small, independent agency which aims to secure safe, sustainable and affordable essential services for the community. One of our key aspirations is that our decisions help NSW to tackle climate change.

If you are looking to start a career where you challenge yourself and serve the public interest, the IPART graduate program is for you. At IPART, you will be supported to grow to your full potential while learning from our leading experts.

You will be part of an 18-month graduate program of up to 3 rotations across the organisation. You will gain experience in areas such as water pricing, energy sustainability, compliance, and special reviews on industry and economic reform.

On successful completion of the 18-month program you will have an ongoing role at IPART and may – subject to performance – be promoted without needing to interview again.

About you

IPART graduates are agile and enthusiastic people who enjoy problem solving, are goal-oriented, and want to excel.

They have a willingness to develop their professional capability and build a diverse skill set to prepare for a successful career at IPART.

They have completed or will complete an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within 2 years before starting work in February 2023. They will ideally have a specialty in Economics, Commerce, Engineering, Science, Law, Energy, Government, Communications or Sustainability. But graduates in all related fields are encouraged to apply.

To be eligible for ongoing employment in the NSW Government sector applicants must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident.

You can find more information about the opportunity and what you need to be successful in the role at our graduate program landing page on the IPART website.
