Due to growth in our consulting business we are looking for a Graduate Asset Management Consultant with experience in the roads sector to join our Perth Capital Projects & Asset Advisory team. You will support one of our key clients through the analysis of road asset condition and performance data and support the development of investment prioritisation programs. You'll work collaboratively with our client in their office, on a full-time secondment basis, as part of a team comprising our staff and our client’s staff.
A key focus for this role will be to develop an understanding of the issues our client is seeking to address and delivering quality work reliably. Working as part of our onsite team, you'll directly contribute to our successful track in working with our client, and our strengthening relationship with them.
The role is required for an initial period of 6 months, with an immediate start. However, there may be opportunities to extend this period, and to support projects delivered through our office for other clients.
You can expect to be involved in:
- Project scoping and methodology development;
- Analysis of asset condition and performance data, including visualisation and data modelling;
- Developing data analysis tools; and
- Contributing to the development of the asset management system.
You should have a strong interest in asset management in the roads sector, and in working directly with clients in a consulting environment. You should have well-developed skills in data analysis using Excel and/or comparable tools. Knowledge of the issues affecting road asset performance, industry standard maintenance and improvement practices for roads, and the principles of good practice asset management will be highly regarded, as will experience using visualisation or programming languages (such as Power BI or Python).
- Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline, such as civil engineering, or significant progress towards a relevant qualification.
- Strong analytical ability – able to work effectively with Excel or visualisation or programming languages in the analysis of large data sets.
- Understanding of road design standards and maintenance practices.
- Methodical, motivated, and well organised.
- Ability to work well independently and in teams and under the pressure of deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good report writing capabilities.
The holder of this role will be a self-confident member of the consulting team within the wider Strategic Asset Management group.
