About the Opportunity - Graduate Cultural Heritage Consultant
Jacobs heritage consultants deliver complex and technically challenging local and national projects to clients involved in a wide range of infrastructure and development activities, including major construction projects, public utilities, transport infrastructure and heritage management programs. We provide Indigenous and historical heritage services including preparing cultural heritage management plans, heritage assessments, heritage impact statements, historical research, cultural heritage awareness training, archival photographic recording, digital asset management services and conservation management plans; preparing applications for heritage permits and approvals; and field survey, archaeological excavation and analysis of Indigenous and historical artefacts.
Due to continued growth in our cultural heritage business, we are seeking a graduate archaeologist or heritage consultant to join our Melbourne team. The successful candidate will work as part of the heritage team and alongside other specialist colleagues across the business. These include ecology, environmental planning and management, project management, spatial science and survey, geotechnical and scientific services, and water and transport engineering services.
The role is based in Melbourne but will involve regional and interstate work at times as we deliver our services as part of a national team.

The successful candidate will have:
- An honours or postgraduate degree in archaeology, heritage management, history or heritage architecture
- An aptitude for problem solving
- A willingness to learn quickly, and to demonstrate a high level of professionalism
- A manual driver’s licence and a willingness to work outdoors
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of computer literacy
- The ability to work independently and in a team to learn from another perspective
- Ask questions and challenge the norm
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident
