An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Market Operations Division as a Reconciliation and Control Officer on a 12 months contract basis. You will be part of the Reconciliations Team that is responsible for reconciliation production, review and reporting in addition to assisting in various projects and ad-hoc requests. This will cover reconciliations for Global businesses.
The purpose of an independent reconciliation is to ensure that all valid transactions have settled across our accounts correctly and to detect any unauthorised activities. It is imperative the reconciliations be performed on a timely basis to ensure that damage (both financial and reputational) caused by settlement errors is minimized.
Reporting to the Reconciliations Manager you will be responsible for completion of daily Nostro account reconciliations for the Commodities and Global Markets Group, and the clearance of unreconciled entries. You will be investigating queries received from counterparties, correspondent banks and internal counterparties in relation to Settlements/Payments activities. In addition to this you will look after amendment and repair of international currency payments and will be processing overdraft interest compensation claims arising from late receipt/late payment of funds.
You are tertiary qualified with some experience working in Nostro Reconciliations or FX Settlement. You possess good organisational skills and have the ability to communicate effectively, capable of dealing with confidential material and able to work in a methodical manner and accept accountability and ownership of tasks. You have a positive attitude, high standard of attention to detail and enjoy working in a team environment. A basic knowledge of SWIFT is advantageous.
