To create positive workplaces in the NSW public sector, it is vital to foster inclusive environments that support all employees, including those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer (LGBTIQ+). Employee reference groups play an important role in recognising and celebrating the diversity of our workforce community, including advocating for LGBTIQ+ employees. They help us to foster an inclusive workplace that is safe, where people who wish to disclose their sexual orientation and/or gender identity do not feel inhibited, unsafe or at risk.
