Internship Engineering - Immediate Start

  • Internship Engineer (Undergraduate)
  • 8 hours per week negotiable over a 12 week period.
  • Based at Port Waratah - Newcastle

About the role

This Internship is designed to provide exposure to career opportunities in engineering in the rail industry within Pacific National. Reporting to the Wagon Engineering team you will shadow and provide support and assistance to the team in the delivery of projects, daily operations and gain exposure to train testing and dynamics and reliability engineering. You will participate in project coordination activities, reporting on and interpretation of data and support service and incident related tasks. 

We envisage you will be working 1 day per week across a 12 week cycle.  This opportunity will also provide you with exposure to business related activities including business communications, participating in regular site meetings, reporting and analysis and work health and safety.

About your experience

Ideally, you will:

  • Completing your 3rd or 4th year undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Have an interest in gaining rail industry experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • P1 drivers licence
