Support Engineer - Immediate Start

NOTE: This is a full time, entry level position and new graduates may apply.

Frauscher Sensor Technology is the global leading supplier and manufacture of axle counter and wheel detection system into the railway industry.

Its Australian subsidiary is seeking to employ a full-time enthusiastic candidate who wishes to develop themselves for a career in the rail industry as a Support Engineer. 

The successful applicant will be provided with full local training via a mentoring program as well as specific experience training overseas in global subsidiaries. We are prepared to invest significantly into the development of the correct candidate with a vision of long term employment with the company.

As post of the role, some travel is required however this is typically a few days at a time, interstate (i.e. not relocation)

Located within Melbourne and reporting to the Operations Director and being part of the Engineering Team, following training, you will be responsible in assisting with:

  • Critical and specific technical support for axle counter systems
  • Project planning and design
  • Fault finding
  • System analysis
  • Application Engineering
  • Liaison with external design teams & rail operators
  • Project management
  • Interfacing with global teams
  • Installation/commissioning assistance
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Providing high quality customer training

As a successful candidate you will have:

  • Experience or knowledge in the railway industry useful, but not essential
  • Working knowledge of network based systems – understanding of IP networks and protocols
  • A background or interest in either mechanical or electrical engineering is favourable
  • Able to pass a safety medical which is required to access various railway network
  • Able to travel interstate and overseas
  • High technical aptitude
  • Ability to work individually or as a team.
  • Proactive work ethics.
  • High attention to detail
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Please note successful candidates may be required to undertake a medical.
