Graduate Process Engineer - Immediate Start

Who we are

Ridley Corporation Limited is the country's largest commercial provider of high performance animal nutrition solutions. CSF Proteins is a division of Ridley, processing meat by-products to manufacture protein meals and tallows. Our Laverton rendering plant is the largest renderer in Australia, with five high capacity processing lines running continuously, 24 hours a day/6 days a week. 

The Role

Reporting to the National Engineering Manager, the graduate will work with production, engineering, automation and maintenance staff to contribute to the achievement of safety, quality, production capacity and cost goals. This role will monitor and improve day to day plant production performance, coach production employees, progress plant improvements (both equipment and automation) and develop process designs for capital projects. 

Key responsibilities for this position include: 

  • Conduct engineering analysis of plant performance daily, reporting on plant performance, assisting production operators and supervisors with resolution of plant operating issues as required.
  • Assist in design and implementation of plant operations optimisation strategies to minimise energy consumption, chemicals usage, water usage, waste production and maximise plant quality and consistency of products.
  • Maintain up to date P&IDs and automation functional descriptions as required.
  • Develop skills to program improvement changes and PLC and SCADA control programs.
  • Develop skills to prepare process design input for capital projects and plant improvements (CI) that involve plant equipment and process modifications to optimise plant operation.
  • Assist with development of SOP’s and with operator training.
  • Provides out of hours support when necessary to assist and respond to emergencies or reliability or other operational issues as relevant and impacting upon production. 
  • Liaises with Production Manager and production workers, Maintenance Manager and maintenance workers to resolves issues with plant operation. 
  • Attends and contributes in meetings and training courses as required by the role.
  • Provide out of hours support as necessary in relation to operational issues as relevant.

Qualification

Graduate of Chemical, Mechanical or Biochemical Engineering degree.
