Graduate Embedded Software Engineer - Immediate Start

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer (Graduate) to conduct software problem investigations, participate in development and testing of embedded software and assist in the design and development of software for testing and production.

About you

Your skillset, training and areas of interest strike a balance between Firmware and Software Engineering. You are known for your curiosity and problem-solving skills, you love to get to the heart of an issue

Ideally you have already had some exposure to the medical device industry and you understand the heavily regulated environment we operate in. The thought of bringing your skills to an organisation that ultimately makes a difference to people’s lives makes this opportunity especially appealing.

About the role

  • Conduct and document investigation of field and manufacturing issues in accordance with Saluda procedures.
  • Develop and conduct Software problem analysis practices for Saluda Medical.
  • Conduct risk assessment with inputs from inter-disciplinary stakeholders
  • Participate in the design, implementation and testing of software components for use in the company's products and
  • testing utilities
  • Assist in the preparation and review of system documentation
  • Develop test requirements and verification protocols
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance team and provide relevant metrics
  • Perform engineering tasks under defined software development processes
  • Support other engineering teams as directed by your manager
  • Other relevant activities as directed by your manager

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Some experience in the development, testing and problem analysis of embedded system software (software and electrical)
  • Some experience with C, C++ or other suitable embedded system programming language
  • Some experience with C#, Python or similar languages for PC application development and scripting
  • Proven self-starter/able to take initiative
  • Strong investigative/problem-solving/change management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to produce reports & presentations to a professional standard.
  • Ability to work in a team and with minimal supervision.

It's not essential, but nice to have:

  • Knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements
  • Experience in medical device, electronics, semi-conductor, automotive or aeronautical industry.
  • Experience in the Neuromodulation industry.
  • Knowledge of control systems, digital signal processing, and neurophysiology
