Essential

Proficiency in the English language, including speaking and writing

• A minimum of 6 months commitment to tutoring. 
• Awareness of professional boundaries and the philosophy of empowerment whilst working compassionately with multicultural Youth  
• Friendly, approachable, patient, creative, and sensitive to cross cultural and interfaith issues.
• Complete monthly reporting.
• Willingness to undergo Police and Working with Children Checks.
• Willingness to travel to the Fairfield and Merrylands region – usually local library or suitable location.
• Willingness to undergo brief training in mentoring and befriending.
• Must be over 18 years of age.

Desirable

Previous teaching qualifications or experience in teaching or tutoring. Interest in Refugee issues.
