Thales is an international powerhouse of talent and human endeavour, encompassing a rich variety of professional backgrounds and national cultures. Being a responsible corporate citizen is in our DNA. Together, we see the benefit in doing the right thing for our people, our environment, our communities and our business.
We look to attract and retain the best talent. We invest in our people too, helping them to develop professionally and personally through extensive training programmes. We also provide great employment conditions because the health and safety of our people always comes first.
Thales Australia has a multi-year partnership with Legacy, one of Australia's oldest and most iconic charitable institutions. Legacy is a unique organisation dedicated to caring for the widows and dependents of Australia's war veterans. The partnership is Thales Australia’s most significant community initiative to date, and we actively support the charity’s numerous activities. We has enormous respect for the members of the Australian Defence Force, past and present. We have very close ties to the ADF; a number of our employees are reservists on active duty, while others are ex-service personnel. We appreciate everything the ADF’s men and women do every day to protect our country, and the sacrifices they make on our behalf. We will do whatever we can to help raise both awareness and funds, and we urge all Australians to get behind this worthwhile cause.

The Thales Foundation
As an extension of the Group’s core mission to make the world a safer place, the Thales Foundation aims to draw on Thales’s innovative flair and technology expertise to benefit society in the areas of education and humanitarian crises. In each of these areas of focus, the Foundation aims to help society to prepare for the future. In the field of education, the objective is to anticipate the major changes that flow down from disruptive technologies. The Foundation promotes science, innovation and new models of teaching and learning. Focusing on children and teachers in primary and secondary education, we’re working to ensure that everybody has access to the same opportunities and teaching methods. In the field of humanitarian crises, the Foundation focuses on helping humanitarian organisations respond effectively in emergency situations. We’re working to support relief organisations and at-risk populations through projects that reduce people’s vulnerability, by mitigating risks of natural and environmental disasters and enhancing preparation for potential emergency situations.
