2022 Graduate Registered & Enrolled Nursing Program

We’re excited to open applications for our 2022 Graduate Enrolled and Registered Nurse Program at St Andrews War Memorial Hospital. This year we’re offering streams in General Nursing and Perioperative.

About our Hospital:

St Andrew’s is an acute care hospital specialising in technologically advanced surgical and general medical care. We’re a 250-bed hospital and facilities include our new state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit and Endoscopy Centre. We bring world-class health care to our patients and their families with a commitment to deliver personalised care and world-class results.

Created as a memorial to the service of war veterans, we’re proud of our heroic and brave history and continue to occupy a unique place in the hearts and minds of our community.

Together with The Wesley Hospital, Buderim Private Hospital and St Stephens Hospital, we form one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in QLD and are proudly part of UnitingCare QLD.

About our program:

As a St Andrews Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work with a world-renowned health care team in one of Queensland’s most complex and high acuity hospital environments. Our high graduate retention rates indicate our Graduates commitment to providing excellent patient care, and belief that St Andrews War Memorial is a truly great place to work.

As a leader in technology and innovation, St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital not only has one of the highest acuity rates of Australian hospitals but is renowned for its extensive history of best practice clinical outcomes and range of specialist services.

St Andrews Graduates work a 64-hour fortnight (32 hours p/week) for a 12-month fixed term period.

Streams to consolidate your skills:

We’re proud to offer opportunities to Graduate Registered and Enrolled Nurses into our General Nursing and Perioperative Streams

St Andrews offers a 12-month program, giving you the opportunity to broaden your skills in a single clinical speciality. Whichever stream you choose, our program will provide you with a deep, rich learning experience supported by experiences staff who care about your future.

As a high-acuity, specialist facility, your program allows you to focus on developing your clinical expertise for the life of your program.

General Nursing Stream covers:

Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Palliative Care, Neuroscience
Cardiology/Coronary Care
Cardiothoracic/Vascular
Orthopaedics//Neurosurgery
Rehabilitation
Surgical – Adult and Paediatrics, Plastics, ENT, Colorectal, Eye, Gynaecology, General Surgical

Perioperative Stream covers:

  • Scrub/Scout
  • PACU (Post Anaesthetic Care Unit)
  • Anaesthetics Program

As part of your application you will be asked to choose which stream is your preference.
