St Andrew’s is an acute care hospital specialising in technologically advanced surgical and general medical care. We’re a 250-bed hospital and facilities include our new state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit and Endoscopy Centre. About our program:
As a St Andrews Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work with a world-renowned health care team in one of Queensland’s most complex and high acuity hospital environments. Our high graduate retention rates indicate our Graduates commitment to providing excellent patient care, and belief that St Andrews War Memorial is a truly great place to work.
As a leader in technology and innovation, St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital not only has one of the highest acuity rates of Australian hospitals but is renowned for its extensive history of best practice clinical outcomes and range of specialist services.
St Andrews Graduates work a 64-hour fortnight (32 hours p/week) for a 12-month fixed term period.

Streams to consolidate your skills:
We’re proud to offer opportunities to Graduate Registered and Enrolled Nurses into our General Nursing and Perioperative Streams.
St Andrews offers a 12-month program, giving you the opportunity to broaden your skills in a single clinical speciality. Whichever stream you choose, our program will provide you with a deep, rich learning experience supported by experiences staff who care about your future.
As a high-acuity, specialist facility, your program allows you to focus on developing your clinical expertise for the life of your program.
General Nursing Stream covers:
Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Palliative Care, Neuroscience
Surgical – Adult and Paediatrics, Plastics, ENT, Colorectal, Eye, Gynaecology, General Surgical
Perioperative Stream covers:
- PACU (Post Anaesthetic Care Unit)
- Anaesthetics Program
As part of your application you will be asked to choose which stream is your preference.
