2022 Postgraduate Midwives - Graduate/Bridging Program

Western Health is currently seeking applications for the 2022 Midwifery Bridging Program. Western Health has an excellent reputation of providing Graduates, Early Career and re-entry to practice Midwives/Nurses with a smooth transition into practice.

The Bridging Program is a 6 month program for students completing Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, Early Career Midwives and Re-entry to practice Midwives. Candidates will be working at a minimum of 64hrs per fortnight (0.84FTE) and are provided with the opportunity to be supported in completing rotations across the continuum of care within the Maternity Unit. Two intakes are offered in 2022, April and October. This program will be supported by preceptors, clinical educators and 24/7 clinical support midwives.

To be Successful in this Role You:

Graduate Diploma of Midwifery Candidates

  • Must be a Registered Nurse currently undertaking the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery
  • Must be registered with AHPRA and ready to commence the 6 month program April 2022 or October 2022
  • Must eligible to work as a Registered Midwife in Australia
  • Must be eligible to apply via Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV)
  • Must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement. (Further information about the required vaccinations and evidence will be supplied on employment) or;

Early Careers Candidates

  • Must have graduated in the last 2 years but not had the opportunity to complete a graduate program or the opportunity to work across the pregnancy continuum, post course completion.
  • Must be registered with AHPRA and ready to commence the 6 month program April 2022 or October 2022
  • Must eligible to work as a Registered Midwife in Australia
  • Must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement. (Further information about the required vaccinations and evidence will be supplied on employment) or;

Re-Entry to Practice Midwives

  • Must have a current Midwifery registration with AHPRA or applied for re-entry registration
  • Must have worked as a Registered Midwife since graduation but out of practice for 2 or more years
  • Must be eligible to work as a Registered Midwife in Australia
  • Must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement, further information about the required vaccinations and evidence will be supplied on employment)
