Contribution to our community is a way of life at Wotton + Kearney. Our Pro Bono and Responsible Business Program, Community Footprint, was established in January 2012.  We have invested in a dedicated team of 5 lawyers, a diversity & inclusion specialist and an administrative assistant.

We have pro bono opportunities for everyone, whether it’s seeing clients in a regular clinic, taking on referrals, contributing to law reform research and writing, advocacy or undertaking a pro bono secondment.

Our responsible business initiatives in the community provide another way to contribute to the work of our charity partners, and a better future for our local and global community and the environment.


The position
We are seeking a 2-3 day a week paralegal to support our responsible business activities.  You’ll be involved in a range of highly varied tasks spanning modern slavery, sustainability and ESG reporting, and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.  Your work is likely to include tasks such as undertaking research and writing proposals.

You will also support our community initiatives and help us to measure our impact. You will have the opportunity to liaise with our charity partners and office champions to help organise donation drives and events. You will use your writing and communication skills to engage staff and external stakeholders with the causes we support and create and share stories of our impact.
This role will help you develop writing, communication and interpersonal skills, whilst putting your university learnings to practical use in a commercial law firm environment.

You’ll work from Wotton + Kearney’s Sydney office in Castlereagh St or work remotely when circumstances require it.
